In most states you would have to get at least a 260 score on the bar exam to pass. This year the minimum passing score for the Maryland bar exam is 266, according to the National Conference of Bar Examiners. The LSAT costs more than $200 and the bar exam is close to $1,000. The non-profit also offers programs to introduce undergraduate and high school students to law school and other legal career opportunities. Those responsibilities can lead to less time to prepare for the bar exam, which is extremely important because the bar exam decides how well you are prepared for the exam and not how well you know the law, George said.

CNN —About 9% of adults across 30 countries around the world identify as LGBTQ, according to a new Ipsos poll. The survey released Thursday indicates Millennials and Gen Zers are more likely to identify as queer, bisexual, pansexual, omnisexual, or asexual than older generations. Respondents included more than 22,514 adults under the age of 75 in 30 countries who answered the survey online between February 17 and March 3. Among the countries surveyed, the survey shows more than half of respondents said they support same-sex marriage where it is legal. Women are also significantly more likely than men to support same-sex marriage, the survey said.

CNN —A growing percentage of Indigenous and Black parents in the United States reported that their children have faced racist experiences, according to a study published in the Journal of Osteopathic Medicine. The study looked at parental reporting of racist experiences their children faced between 2016 and 2020. By comparison, 1% of parents of White children reported their kids had faced discrimination in 2016, and that increased to 1.7% in 2020. Hendrix-Dicken says the findings are significant because exposure to discrimination in early childhood can have long-term consequences on health. “As an Indigenous person myself, perhaps the most personally significant and surprising finding is the rate at which Indigenous children are experiencing discrimination,” added Hendrix-Dicken.

SEATTLE—Behind a secure door at Starbucks Corp. headquarters lies a technology lab where the chain is plotting its renewal. That includes rethinking the onerous path its baristas must take to make a Frappuccino. Inside the 20,000-square-foot space called the Tryer Center, baristas working in a mock-up of a Starbucks cafe walked back and forth between refrigerators, blenders and syrups to make a single blended coffee topped with cold foam and caramel drizzle. They asked if the company could build kitchens that bring the equipment closer together and make syrup pumps, milk dispensers and ice bins that work better.
For more than a year, Starbucks has been testing how to overhaul operations to improve the experience for both employees and customers. If employees spend less time running around, executives said, maybe they will be happier working there. “It’s the complexity of those cold beverages,” Howard Schultz, interim CEO, said in a recent interview. “We will fix that. We will design new stores from scratch.”
